The Cyclops were mythical beings of Greek mythology and Roman mythology with an eye in the middle of the front. Besides, the word “cyplope” derives from the synthesis of the two word circles and eye and identifies a being with only one eye in the forehead.
Serifos, the “iron island” as it was called, according to mythology was inhabited by powerful and giant Cyclops. The terrible Cyclops lived in the cave under Psaropyrgos, but as a task, they were awarded the construction of large walls all over the island whose remains are said to be the walls of Liomandras and the white Tower. The Cyclops, the children of Poseidon, were the first to exploit the mineral wealth of the island and create an early civilization that later bequeathed to humans.
